My Jeans Quilt

Here's some pictures of a jeans quilt I've been working on. After recently losing 35 pounds, I found a good use for old jeans that are not worn anymore. I had tons of leftover scraps of flannel fabrics that are used in the blocks so this project should hopefully put a large dent in that scrap pile.

I have one block done and it measures roughly 16" x 20". I have 8 more blocks to make before sewing the whole thing together. I am using a variegated purple thread that shows up so nicely on the back!

Double Wedding Ring quilt

This gorgeous wedding ring quilt was made by my mother. She worked on it (without me knowing!) and gave it to Neil and I for our 1 year wedding anniversary. After having this quilt hang in my studio for nearly 4 years, I finally came up with how I wanted it quilted. I am hoping to get the binding put on this weekend so I can hang it at the National Day of Quilting at the Heritage Center next Saturday (March 21)

New Routines

Ok, it's been so long since I blogged last that I couldn't even remember my password!! My good friend Britta suggested I blog more often so here it is, my new blog - updated twice a week...or at least that's my goal!

Now that I'm home full-time doing quilting, I've been able to get much more quilting in! Last week I managed to finish 8 quilts for customers! Out of all of them, this one was my favorite. It was made for my friend Ida by her mother. Ida just got married on Saturday and the quilting was part of my gift for her.

I don't often get to do the McTavishing that I love so much; so when Ida said she didn't want something plain, I knew that this table runner needed some extra flair with a McTavishing background filler. I love the way this turned out!

Moda Flirtations

At a recent quilt show, it seemed that the newest, hottest item was the Moda Flirtations fabric line. I LOVE the pink and brown colors so of course; I purchased a charm pack, a pattern, a couple yo-yo makers and here's what I've got so far...a halfways finished wall hanging. It's gone together very easily and quickly but I have got distracted by another project (more on that project later). Hopefully today I'll get this one finished and quilted to display for Valentine's Day..nothing like the last minute!!
